Stine Seed Company’s LibertyLink® Soybeans Approved in Korea
Approval allows for unrestricted planting and importation
Adel , IA - April, 6 2009
Stine Seed Company’s LibertyLink® soybeans have received import approval from Korean regulatory authorities. This news comes on the eve of the inaugural growing season of LibertyLink soybeans in the United States.
“This is great news for the soybean growers who want maximum yields while reducing their exposure to herbicide resistance,” says David Thompson, Stine National Sales and Marketing Director. “This means soybean growers will have a new weed control option, and a larger selection of varieties available to help them maximize yields. It also reinforces Stine’s dedication to leading the seed industry in innovation, genetic strength and providing management options for growers.”
Stine Seed Company, headquartered near Adel, Iowa, is an industry-leading seed company focused on developing and marketing the world's best performing corn and soybean seed. For nearly four decades, Stine’s soybean research program has been regarded as the soybean genetics supplier of choice to the seed industry.
Stine Seed Company has taken a lead role in the introduction of LibertyLink soybeans. LibertyLink soybeans are fully approved for food, feed and cultivation in the United States and Canada. Prior to commercialization in December 2008, import approvals were obtained in key export markets with biotech product approval processes, including Australia, China, the European Union, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, South Africa and Taiwan.
Along with providing top-yielding, elite genetics, LibertyLink soybeans also offer growers the many benefits of in-crop weed control available with Ignite herbicide. The LibertyLink system allows growers to enjoy the benefits of the Roundup Ready system, such as less tillage, labor and equipment, along with the ease, convenience and efficacy of a brand new over-the-top, non-selective form of weed control. Ignite herbicide also has the added benefit of being a highly effective management tool for glyphosate-resistant or -tolerant weeds.
