Stine Seed Company Sponsors Generating Success Conference

Farm families gather in West Des Moines to learn how to improve their ag businesses

Adel , IA - August 10, 2011

Stine Seed Company is sponsoring the Generating Success conference, hosted by Successful Farming magazine, being held August 11–12 in West Des Moines, Iowa. About 200 attendees are expected at the conference that is designed to help farm families be more productive, profitable and achieve greater satisfaction in their agricultural businesses.

Professional speaker, author and family business consultant Jolene Brown, CSP, will lead the conference. She has more than 20 years of experience working with farm families, and will provide take-home tools to improve management, leadership and transition of the family business. Professional agriculture business advisor, Don Jonovic, Ph.D., will also speak at the conference. He has counseled business owners about growth and ownership transition since 1973.

Stine, a privately-held, independently-owned business, understands first-hand the importance of management and transition planning. Stine believes that a successful family business transcends multiple decades and continues to get stronger with each new generation. According to a research study by Successful Farming, an estimated 70 percent of U.S. farmland will change hands in the next 20 years, while an estimated 75 percent of retirement-age farmers have not identified successors.

“Stine feels it is important to sponsor the Generating Success conference because we recognize the importance of having management and transition plans in place to ensure assets remain intact and businesses continue to operate profitably,” says Vice President of Sales Myron Stine. “We believe it is important for everyone in the industry to share their knowledge with the next generation of agriculture leaders.”

The Generating Success conference gives Stine Seed Company an opportunity to reach out and connect with growers. Become a Facebook fan or follow Stine Seed on Twitter for live updates throughout the Generating Success conference.
