Stine's Hybrids Stand Up to Goss's Wilt
Goss's Wilt is a bacteria that originated in Nebraska in the 1970s and cannot be treated with a fungicide. Goss's Wilt can affect yield, stalk quality and even kill the plant.
Now, it has migrated further east and, with no real cure, the best thing a grower can do is plant hybrids that have demonstrated resistance to the bacteria. In severe cases, the best solution is to put these fields back into a crop rotation and bury corn residue. Following is a list of Stine hybrids with high ratings against Goss's Wilt:
