Like an umbrella shielding the rain, Stine HP Corn’s early canopy protects your acres from escaping yields. Rain or shine, the early canopy allows the plant to utilize the best Mother Nature has to offer and turns her benefits into a plush, dense and healthier crop.
Planted in narrow rows and at higher populations, HP Corn canopies earlier than other hybrids planted in wider rows. This helps the plants fully maximize every drop of rain, ray of sunshine and nutrient in the soil. When sunlight hits bare ground, its potential to promote plant growth is lost. But with Stine’s HP Twin 20 planting system, the plants’ leaves harvest the sunlight and help minimize the rays that escape to the soil.
Even a heavy rain, which can lead to erosion and valuable nutrients being swept away with the soil, can’t slow down HP Corn’s early canopy. Narrower rows create less of a channel between the rows for water to run down, allowing solid particles to stay put, along with the much-needed nutrients the plants need to thrive.
And with much denser rows comes less room for weeds to germinate. HP Corn’s early canopy provides extra support for weed suppression and, in some cases, can even slightly reduce air temperatures for a field because of the transpiration of the plants.
