Stine Seed Company has long been a leader in the field
of biotechnology. Here’s just a few of Stine’s biotech accomplishments:
- Released the first biotech soybean. Stine brand 1580 was a somaclonal
variant regenerated from tissue culture.
- Introduced the first Group 1 Roundup Ready® soybean.
- Introduced the first STS® soybeans into the marketplace.
- Developed an entirely new plant transformation process, known as Aerosol Beam Injection.
At Stine Seed Company’s biotechnology facility in Ames, Iowa, researchers
are working to develop new traits that will provide farmers with more planting
flexibility and increased options. The process doesn’t happen overnight,
but at Stine, we have remained focused on introducing these traits and features
and, at the same time, enjoy the high performance that they’ve come to
expect from Stine, performance which puts Stine products at the top of the yield
trials year after year. Our goal is to use biotechnology to provide our customers
with the most valuable traits available in the best germplasm in the industry.
