Which Soybean is Right for Your Field?
With harvest season delayed in many parts of the country, planting season may be the furthest thing from your mind. But this is the ideal time to make your spring seed selections. There are many factors to take into consideration during your decision-making process, including weed resistance, yield potential and drought-resistance. Stine sells a wide range of soybean maturities and traits to help growers meet their planting needs.
Stine’s Liberty Link®, Roundup Ready® and Genuity™ Roundup Ready 2 Yield® soybeans all contain built-in tolerance to crop protection products so that farmers can get high yields and outstanding weed control. Stine Liberty Link® soybeans, when combined with new Ignite herbicide, present a nonselective herbicide trait alternative to glyphosate.
Of course, Stine Roundup Ready® soybeans have set the standard for weed control and performance for more than a decade. Next-generation Genuity™ Roundup Ready 2 Yield® soybeans are bred with the same tolerance to glyphosate, giving farmers access to the powerful weed control they’ve come to know. Together, these traits provide an excellent means to minimize weed resistance and volunteer corn in fields.
If you prefer to plant conventional, non-trait seeds, Stine’s Elite® line offers 20 varieties of high-yielding soybeans. Other factors to take into consideration include length of maturity, plant emergence and standability. Stine agronomists suggest that producers plant a combination of maturities and traits to protect their investments, in case of adverse growing conditions.
