Corn Technical Agronomist
Joined Stine Seed Company 2012
Seeing the true value in Stine products after five years as a Stine dealer, five years as a regional sales agronomist and most recently as eastern director of sales, Mike Smith has taken on the newest role in the Stine leadership team as corn technical product agronomist. Mike brings a wealth of agricultural experience to his role, having worked with individual growers as an independent ag consultant and a Certified Crop Adviser to recommend seed, fertility and chemistry solutions. He uses his knowledge of Stine’s product lineup and sales experience to help Stine sales team members connect with growers and provide insight on what products best fit their clients’ operations. As corn technical product agronomist, Mike also works closely with Stine’s national corn agronomy manager and corn technical agronomist on product and crop management training and oversight of Stine’s plot program.
For Mike, relationship building and maintaining grower trust is a must for a successful sales team. When he was a regional sales agronomist, the summers Mike spent scouting fields and providing management strategies to growers gave him the skills to educate new and even veteran sales team members.
A native to northeastern Ohio, Mike spends his free time with his wife and three children, cheering on the Kansas City Royals and the Ohio State Buckeyes, and playing guitar.
