Laboratory Technician (Dallas Center, IA)

Position Overview

Stine Seed Company, the nation’s largest independent seed company, is seeking a laboratory technician for its biotech facility in Dallas Center, Iowa. This is an excellent opportunity to grow with one of the industry’s most respected corn and soybean seed companies.

Position Responsibilities

• Sample processing, testing, data analysis and reporting in a high throughput laboratory.
• Use of various molecular biology techniques including: DNA extractions, quantitation and normalization, crude protein extractions and lateral flow devices.
• Assay development, optimization and validation.
• Equipment and laboratory maintenance.

Position Requirements

• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques desired: including DNA extractions, quantitation and normalization; PCR; Real-time PCR; electrophoresis; lateral flow devices.
• A.S. or B.S. in Biology, Biotechnology or closely related scientific field required.
• Ability to work well with a team and independently required. Excellent organization skills and aseptic technique required. Previous lab experience and strong computer skills preferred.
• Flexible hours may include occasional evenings and/or weekends; 40 hr/wk, hourly salary depending on experience.
