ADEL, Iowa — Stine® Seed Company is pleased to announce Thursday, March 21, 2024, as Women in Agriculture Day in Iowa.
This is the fifth consecutive year Stine has partnered with the Iowa FFA Foundation, Iowa 4-H Youth Development Program and FarmHer to obtain a state proclamation celebrating the women who advance the ag industry. The proclamation reads: “Iowa recognizes the nearly 52,000 women who serve in leadership, support and influential decision-making roles across Iowa’s 86,000 farms. And, in addition to working on the farm, women in agriculture make a difference across the state in various commodity and industry fields.”
“The reach of this campaign gets broader each year, and we’re proud that it’s even garnered national momentum,” says Ann Clinton, communications director for Stine. “Women in Ag Day is something everyone can celebrate!”
Each year, Stine chooses a Thursday in March to celebrate Women in Agriculture Day at the crossroads of Women’s History Month and National Agriculture Week (March 17–23, 2024). In addition to the state proclamation, Stine kicked off its annual Women in Ag campaign in early March, with special social media posts and a Women in Ag-themed podcast episode on the Stine Seedcast (stay tuned for another episode airing on Tuesday, March 26), as well as its annual Women in Ag Day Reception hosted at the Stine Barn.
“There are no limits to what women can do and have done for agriculture,” says Clinton. “It’s incredibly important to share their stories however we can to encourage future generations to join the agricultural industry. There’s so much to do and so many opportunities to grow.”
Stine is encouraging everyone to join in celebrating Women in Agriculture Day in Iowa by sharing their ag stories on social media using the hashtag #TogetHER4Ag. Individuals interested in learning more about the day or how Stine is celebrating women in agriculture throughout March are welcome to follow the Stine Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube pages, or catch the special-edition Women in Ag episodes on the Stine Seedcast — available wherever podcasts are found.
