What soybean traits are we working with?

April 2026

A question we hear often at Stine® Seed Company is, “What soybean traits are you working with?” The answer: We actively work with multiple soybean trait platforms to ensure long-term flexibility, market access and performance for growers. In fact, we’re often among the first seed companies to offer new trait platforms as soon as they become commercially available.

What soybean traits are we working with?

“In order to deliver on our STINE HAS YIELD promise, we have to protect choice for farmers,” says Myron Stine, company president. “No two fields are the same, so it’s critical that we offer the best and most flexible trait platforms for each environment. As an independent seed company, we have the advantage of partnering with leading trait developers to bring new innovations to farmers quickly and often before our competitors.”

From established herbicide tolerance systems to emerging gene-editing innovations and enhanced oil technologies, our focus remains on yield and giving farmers the tools that best fit their operations.

We’re proud to work with the following current and in-development trait platforms.

Current Offerings

  • Enlist E3® soybeans. Stine was one of the first to market Enlist E3 soybeans, which is why we continue to offer one of the industry’s broadest seed lineups. Enlist E3 features tolerance to glufosinate, glyphosate and 2,4-D choline. It’s designed for broad herbicide flexibility and remains among the top traits growers ask for when they choose Stine soybeans.
  • XtendFlex® soybeans. Stine XtendFlex soybeans are a strong option for growers seeking to expand their herbicide program. Built upon the proven Roundup Ready 2 Xtend® technology, XtendFlex also features tolerance to three active ingredients: glufosinate, glyphosate and dicamba.
  • Enhanced oil profile soybeans. Stine’s enhanced oil profile soybeans are designed to deliver yield first and oil content second. This means growers can access soybeans with naturally elevated oil content without sacrificing yield, delivering opportunities for added value in the biodiesel and industrial markets. • Elite Conventional soybeans. While these are nontraited soybeans, they’re still worth considering. Stine Elite Conventional soybeans are built on our highest-yielding genetics. They deliver pure performance and are available to growers looking to reduce input costs without sacrificing yield potential.

Traits on the horizon

  • Enlist E3® Expance™. Stine will be one of the first to market Enlist E3 Expance soybeans — the most herbicide-tolerant soybean trait in the industry — available to growers in 2029 (pending regulatory approvals). With multi-herbicide-tolerant weeds on the rise, Enlist E3 Expance will enable tolerance to more active ingredients than any other soybean trait stack, including glyphosate, glufosinate, 2,4-D choline and multiple HPPD inhibitor chemistries (e.g., mesotrione, isoxaflutole and bicyclopyrone). Enlist E3 Expance is developed by MS Technologies® and Syngenta. Learn more about Enlist E3 Expance
  • Vyconic™. Developed by Bayer Crop Science and anticipated for the 2028 season (pending regulatory approvals), Vyconic builds on the proven performance of XtendFlex with a new event. It features a five-way herbicide stack, including tolerance to glyphosate, glufosinate, dicamba, 2,4-D and HPPDi (mesotrione). Learn more about Vyconic.
  • Enlist E3® Nemasphere™. A collaboration between BASF and MS Technologies, Nemasphere is a nematode resistance trait that sets a new standard for nematode management for soybean farmers. Anticipated for commercialization in 2029 (pending regulatory approvals), Nemasphere will be stacked to combine the powerful performance of Enlist E3 with native SCN resistance as well as transgenic nematode resistance. The trait will also offer tolerance to four herbicide modes of action: glyphosate, glufosinate, 2,4-D choline and mesotrione (an HPPD inhibitor). Learn more about Enlist E3 Nemasphere.
