MX Series Corn by Stine® is the cream of the crop when it comes to delivering consistent yield results. In fact, only the most reliable, high-yielding performers in our Elite Yield Trials earn the MX Series Corn designation.
“MX Series Corn features exclusive products not found in any other corn lineup. These hybrids are an excellent foundation for high-population, high-management acres and consistently outyield their counterparts in our Elite Yield Trials.”

Features and benefits
Hybrids that achieve MX Series Corn status share unique features that set them apart.
- Unique plant architecture. MX Series Corn plants typically have more upright leaves, which allow for better utilization of sunlight and more efficient pollination.
- Versatile genetics. Derived from the latest, most superior corn genetics from one of the industry’s largest corn breeding programs, these hybrids work well across different environments and soil types.
- Strong roots and stalks. A common feature of our MX Series Corn lines, excellent roots and stalks translate to better standability and fewer lodging issues come harvest.
- Optimal ear placement. Ears are ideally situated on the plants — high enough above ground for easy harvest but low enough to avoid compromising stalk strength or risk being dislodged during high winds.
- Maximum returns in high-yield environments. As demonstrated through our Elite Yield Trials, these lines excel in high-population, high-yield environments.
For the 2027 planting season, we have our largest MX Series Corn portfolio to date, including a mix of traited and conventional options, ranging from an 84–86-day to a 113–115-day maturity.
“There are a few returning champions on our 2027 roster that we’re excited to see back in growers’ fields,” says Hartman. “We're always working to bring growers brand-new, high-yielding genetics, but we won't turn our back on proven genetic combinations that consistently deliver.”
The starting lineup
A few returning favorites for the 2027 season include:
- MX261-0: This conventional line is a dependable, high-yielding option with high test weight, designed to perform best as a full-season product at higher planting populations. It responds well to in-season management and includes an industry-leading fungicide and insecticide treatment. MX261-0 is an excellent choice for high-management acres using a conventional herbicide system, and it excelled in our Elite Yield Trials, yielding 108.3% of trial average.
- MX481-G: Stine MX481-G brand corn has shown outstanding yield performance in our Elite Yield Trials, consistently performing near 110% in four years of testing, with a 9% average advantage over competitive products. It is an excellent option for increased planting populations and is widely adaptable for all row widths. MX481-G features very good root and stalk strength, stress tolerance, and medium-tall plant height and semi-fixed ear placement that help optimize yield in higher planting populations. Featuring the Stine GT™ trait, MX481-G has built-in tolerance to glyphosate-based herbicides, providing growers the freedom to choose their preferred brand of glyphosate.
- MX551-G: Stine MX551-G brand corn is a high-yielding, full-season line developed to thrive at increased planting populations. It features a medium-tall plant type with medium-tall ear placement and very good roots and stalks, making it an excellent choice for all row widths and stressful environments. It also excels in high-management acres with an application of sulfur and offers an industry-leading fungicide and insecticide treatment. With the Stine GT trait, MX551-G has tolerance to glyphosate-based herbicides, and in our Early-Mid Elite Trials, it yielded a two-year average of 108%.
“MX Series Corn hybrids consistently perform 3%–8% above the trial average. We’re not exaggerating when we call them elite performers — they truly represent the best of our corn breeding program, and we have the data to prove it.”
